Best laid plans quite often are gone with the wind, in spite of all our efforts. My best laid gardening plans blew away about a week ago. In spite of having to purchase a new central air unit during the 99*F week, in spite of the leak in the water heater, (caused by moving it during the A/C installation) in spite of the fact that all the water in the water heater ended up covering the padded and carpeted floor in my studio in the dead of night when nobody was watching, in spite of the fact that I've spent a week yanking wet-oozing-stinking carpet and padding off the concrete floor, and in spite of the fact that I decided to paint the concrete floor instead of re-carpeting it, my gardens kept on blooming. (The weeds kept on growing, too, but the floor mess kept me mostly oblivious to them.) It's been a daylily kind of week, and in spite of the wreck inside my house, the gardens are lovely. I've surely needed that.
And the floor painting - it's going pretty well too.
From this . . . to this . . . to this. Slowly but surely.
One half of the room is done, now the moving of furniture begins so that I can get to the second half. Another long week ahead . . . groan.
And in spite of it all, the flowers - oh, the flowers! (This last image of one little garden section needs to be enlarged - it's about as chaotic as inside my house.)
Happy Happy July!!
