Seedfork's blog: Daylilies that had not bloomed this year until now

Posted on Jun 5, 2014 3:00 PM

After being gone a few days I am always anxious to see what's been happening in the garden while I was away. Lots of blooms but only two plants had bloomed that had not boomed before for this season. Tuscawilla Tigress had it's FFO while I was away, I think this could have been the FFO on Corryton Pink.

The Butterfly weed is starting to show color, but in more ways than one. Bright Orange aphids as well at a little color from the newly forming blooms are showing on the green stems. I have sprayed the aphids once already with diluted Ammonia and that seemed to have killed them, but they have made a return and I will hit them with the spray once again.
