LysmachiaMoon's blog: I dig over the scent crescent edge

Posted on Dec 27, 2014 9:07 AM

I got the entire perimeter of the new circular bed, which includes the scent crescent, dug over. I still need to go back over it and get out all the roots/weeds/monster grass, but got about halfway done with that before i got too hungry to go on. The soil is still very wet, so I'm leaving most of it turned up in big chunks to dry out in the sun, wind and frost before I start breaking it up into a finer tilth and getting out the weed roots. Waffling over whether to remove or keep the bush honeysuckle (self-sowed) that is growing there. I think I'll keep it, just until I see how things are progressing. Will need to prune it down though.

Very nice today (Saturday), with sunshine and cold but not frigid temps; heavy frost this morning. I'm going to try to get outside in a bit and get the scent crescent work done.
