Nothing going on today, college football is over, and it is suppose to rain. So with a damp, cool morning I eased out to the back yard just to look around. Spotted some new growth on a few ferns, the daffodils are at a standstill it seems. I noticed the daylilies are showing some new growth, but many of them still look bad from the several days of freezing weather. Anyhow, at this time of year
any sign of life and any little green showing is appreciated. Even found some white yarrow blooming, that seemed strange but it did remind me that I was suppose to move that to a sunnier location and failed to do so.
After taking the tour, I walked into the shed and pulled out three packs of seed, just a little early according to ATP's planting guide, but what the heck. I just make one row down in the vegetable plot, used a stick and make a straight narrow line, then planted the front third with Black Seeded Simpson Lettuce. The next third I planted with Danvers #126 carrots, and I finished the last third with Looseleaf blend lettuce. So there, the first row in the vegetable garden is planted, I feel so much better!
Took a few photos, here are some of the things still green and growing in the garden.
