Another box arrived with my hop vine and my Jerusalem artichokes. These were from Shumway seed co. and again, I'm pretty happy with the quality. There is one thing.....I never saw a hop vine before and the planting instructions say it is a "rhizome" but to my eyes, that thing looks like nothing except a piece of sprouting grape vine. Does anyone know what a hop vine rhizome/rooted cutting should look like? Guess I should post this to the question forum.
Very chilly yesterday and again today. We had some light rain as well, so eveyrthing is pretty wet and mucky. Still, I am going to try to get out and do some gardening this afternoon. I'm about blind from editing and if I ever learn another thing about Japanese Philosophy I may just shave my head and become a Zen monk.
Then again... hmm...would be nice and cool in summer. And those red/orange robes...very attractive color.

Cat update: Well, I guess we've got another weird cat illness. From being in terrible shape (dizzy, disoriented, staggering, crying), Coco is now perfectly normal. I really think my vet missed this diagnosis (again). She is convinced it's toxoplasmosis (I think my vet has developed some sort of mania for this disease...) and has ordered some kind of special antibiotic etc (which is going to cost me a fortune no doubt), and refuses to even consider that I think this is an inner ear "thing." OK. I dont want to get into an argument (not with Coco's life and well-being at stake), but I don't think that blood test is going to come back pos for Toxo. We'll see. I've been wrong before (No!? Really? Unbelievable!) All I know is, Coco is runnign around eating and playing and seems perfectly ok except she is still holding her head a little to one side...as you might if you were a cat with something weird going on in your ear.
