I did not get much done today. No energy. Jumped around the garden here and there, pulling weeds. Picked the asparagus and some broccoli. No decent broccoli, mostly small side shoots. There is, however, a cauliflower about the size of a baseball. It was exposed so I bent a couple of leaves over it.
I saw some zinnias in the greenhouse bed where I threw a mix of old seeds. There are a ton of watermelon from the compost and I'll transplant some of those. That bed has a huge ant hill so I need to get some dried molasses in there. I had DE on it but then I cannot water it. The beans in the bed are starting to want to climb so I have to get some trellising in there soon. The cukes in the Earth Box in the GH are also starting to climb.
Put up the netting for the pole beans in the garden. They all came up really well, especially the butter peas. The corn and summer squash is up as well. David marked the rows for the tomatoes, peppers, cukes and melons. Then we put up the fencing for the cukes and melon. He had to mow the tomato and pepper rows, the wheat grew a lot since Ira mowed the area last week. Of course with all the rain we've had...
We set the tomatoes out, three rows of 19 tomatoes each, but I just had no energy to plant them. We said tomorrow, after we pick, wash and bag lettuce, but David gets a hair cut at 12:30 so I doubt it will happen as I don't want to be the one digging the holes. David even had soil mix ready to go in the holes! We'll just see what happens.
