Beautiful sunny day, just a little on the cool side for this time of year. I took advantage of it and mowed most of the lawn today. With all that rain and the fertilizer I put out right before all the rain started, the grass is beginning to green up and is growing pretty well, still has a lot of bare spots to fill in but maybe this year my lawn won't dry up and turn brown.
So not much else going on in the garden today...wait, now I did have a new daylily open today and it was a named variety!
Heaven's Portals:
Also today in the garden I had three more hostas with new pips popping up: Patriot, Bressingham Blue and Fire and Ice. So that was exciting, now I only have a few more hosta varieties that have not shown any growth this year, also had another Zounds show five new little pips today.
Oh, the O'possum wreaked havoc in the garden last night, dug up zinnias, marigold and daylily seedlings, and of course avoided the trap. Darn, forgot to bait it this afternoon.
Anyhow, I did not make it to the farmers market being they are open on Tues. Thurs. and Saturdays from 7-11 am and I was cutting grass at that time. So just for the sake of seeing what my new camera at 60 x is capable of I went down to two of the three lakes here in my subdivision to give it a test. I was impressed just by the zoom capability, not the sharpest pictures, but these are hand held and that is not easy at 1440 mm.
Can you see the white crane?
Here he is:
Even closer now:
This is the dam between the two first lakes, can you see the geese?
Here they are:
OK, just one more. Can you tell I was starting to really enjoy this?
Can you make out the water tower in the horizon?
Here it is : Where I live "Enterprise The City of Progress"
Oh and over on the far bank an old derelict boat
