LysmachiaMoon's blog: rainy summer

Posted on Jun 18, 2015 7:38 AM

So far, a very wet and warm summer. As a gardener, I can't complain...everything is growing at an amazing rate. As a householder though...hmmm.... nothing is drying out. I haven't been able to sit on the deck chair cushions for weeks now...just when they start to dry out, they get soaked again. My welcome mats are soaked...I put them over the deck/porch rails to drip dry, then put them back down and ....more rain. Hilarious! It would be nice to have just one dry breezy sunny day a week to get some of this stuff dried out a bit. Also, I would like to start taking out my furniture one piece at a time and giving it a good scrub then wax. You can't do that if it won't dry out quickly!

Too wet to do much outside today...did a walkabout this morning, in the "lower acre" Woodland garden, Pond Circle, the two Shrub borders, the Fence border. Looking very nice! My roses needed deadheading, but too lazy to go out and do it just now.

First fresh peas from the garden last night for supper; delicious.
