Well, I certainly must not be the sharpest tack in the box. You know those numbers that were on the daylily tags...product numbers that are under the photos! I paid them no attention, just looking at the pretty pictures I guess. I got a free bonus plant number B 434 and it was not listed on the invoice, so I e-mailed and asked if it was a seedling or a named variety. Got a note back saying it was 'Blonde Is Beautiful", they made no mention of the fact that the 434 was actually a product number and was shown under the photo. But then, finally, it dawned on me...that might actually be a product number. So I looked back at the online catalog and sure enough there they all are listed with the photos. Really felt sort of dumb...trying to think of an excuse, but nothing comes to mind (that is less than ego deflating).
Anyhow I have all my new acquisitions planted, and and just hoping in this very hot weather they don't get root rot, that is my biggest fear.
Digger Critter made a visit last night: No damage done, he just went along the edge of the bed digging for worms. What ever it is he likes digging around raised edges and especially raised beds with wood frames around them.
The daylily blooms are slowing down now, but here are a few that were blooming this morning.
'As Time Goes By' I think, still mottled looking, and I can't be sure.
'Carnival In Mexico'
'Prairie Blue Eyes'
'Rainbow Candy'
'Endowed With Beauty' That is dew on the bloom, wish we did get some rain.
'Jolyene Nichole'
This daylily has not bloomed yet this year, all the buds are at the very top of the scape, I don't think I have any others that do this.
