After an all day and Night rain I went to take a look at the rain gauge to see just how much rain. First I was greeted by the smell of the jasmine on the front porch and the brisk air 58 degrees.
Then sunshine on a stick , the first of the sunflowers to bloom are the volunteers under the bird feeder
a short wet walk out to the garden and the daylilies were wasting no time opening.
and there were baby slugs eating the closed flowers . I guess that is as good a breakfast as anything , but it seems a long haul up the stem for a tasty breakfast considering slugs move rather slow I wonder if they can get back down before the sun reaches the garden and well.....toast?
...anyway I stopped for a handful of blueberries till the mosquitoes moved me along
At the rain gauge Two and a half inches
That brings my garden total to over 10 inches for June , Don't know if that is a record but seems a lot to me .
Slogged my way back to the house for a cup of tea and waiting up high, Scruffmonkey
She mentioned how she thought it silly of me to get my paws so wet and she would have no part in it.
