I haven't been in the Garden since Sunday. It's been a tough couple of days. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a hard painless lump on my cat Cinder's lower jar (this is my best friend cat who watches vids with me). I knew immediately what it was and that it was very very bad. But I decided that since there's absolutely nothing that can be done with this type of cancer (I've seen it before), I was not going to rush her to the vet just then. So...I gave her those 3 weeks of warm sunshine and beautiful weather and we watched her YouTube "stories" (she loved those vids of fish tanks!) every day. Then on Monday, I realized she was having trouble eating so I knew that it was time. The vet put her down Monday and I know I did the right thing. I spared her horrible suffering and she went quietly while she was still in fairly good health, not in terrible pain. But the loss has been really hard. I've got a lot of cats here, but I had Cinders for 17+ years; some of them just sort live here, friends and "roommates"...I care about them, naturally, and do my best by them. But others are family, and Cinders was the best. Just a small fat gimpy one eyed tortie farm cat I picked up and rescued as a kitten. My best friend forever. I miss her. Her final resting place is up above the Fairy Glen, by the weeping willow. I like to sit up there with my coffee so we can still visit from time to time.

the garden work has stalled. I just can't make myself go out and get anything done. I've been sitting around doing office work, reading stupid novels and eating for comfort. Today that has to change. I have to get back outside and get some exercise. I'm hoping to at least get the brush/weeds I cleared out of the south border hauled away today.
Hard to believe it's time to start putting together my seed order for the summer Veg. Waiting for a couple of my fav seed catalogs to arrive first.

Weather is finally looking like December. High of 42 forecast today, and snow showers by the weekend.
