I thought I should go ahead and take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. May not have much time for now till after the new year.
Like everywhere here in the south and east, the weather is very warm, the garden is all mulched and bedded down though. Still have things blooming and growing with green everywhere. Even the Elephant Ears have not had enough frost to make them collapse so far.
I might have collected my last load of leaves for the year today (actually 5 loads today: Two loads of bagged leaves, one load all shredded up and the other not) The other leaves were shredded pretty good though a mower and the last load was just beautiful stuff, shredded and already half decomposed. I just feel so blessed when I find loads of stuff like that. I feel it will do the garden good, but it does me good also. I just love watching all that organic matter turn into soil.
I have added loads of stuff to the bog bed again this year...yep, still boggy. But most days now I can walk down there without sinking down. This week it is suppose to rain most of the week, started this afternoon, so it might get pretty boggy down there by the end of the week.
I have started no seeds this year...I may even wait till spring to try and start anything. Just according to how bored I get after the football bowls and playoffs are over.
I did collect some leaves a while back and found some hibiscus cutting in the bag, I stuck them in the ground and it seems they have rooted. Not sure if they are perennial or tropical, so if they don't freeze during the winter I should have some new plants to put somewhere.
I took cuttings from my Chinese Snowball tree, and once again they have failed to root, I'll keep trying.
