After planning and planting this bed in the fall of 2014, I was anxious to see how it would work out this past spring. Wonder of wonders, the tulips actually bloomed when the weeping cherry did. Admittedly is was only a two day overlap and at the fleeting end of the cherry blossoms, but still... The overlap with the redbud was at least two weeks though. All in all, I was very happy with the results. I'm not sure how old the weeping cherry is, but it is a sight to see in its maturity. Maybe this winter I'll find the receipt when I continue the endless quest to organize my garden notes. The little new redbud looks like a dwarf in comparison, but give it time. The garden seemed to be missing something, and it was Mike's idea to relocate a curved grey concrete bench from another garden area. It looks much better in its new location under the cherry tree and gives me a nice place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
