Taken today, 7/8/2011
Raised beds are filling fast, a little too fast! The trellis is planted with a rose (Autumn Sunset) and a purple clematis on the right and 2 cup 'n saucer (Cobaea scandens) vines on the left side, one green and one purple. Hubby Brad added copper piping between the posts.
This is a whole new learning experience for both my husband and I but we love it!
We got a late start of course while these were being built but the warm temps sure speed things slong, we are enjoying fresh salads daily now! We have planted in these boxes and barrels plus two other boxes:
6 tomatoes
beets
radishes
several different kinds of peppers
strawberries
lettuce
squash
swiss chard
dill
eggplant
1 watermelon
Fall gold raspberries
rhubarb
artichoke
lemon cucumber
blueberry
We also have a dwarf nectarine and peach trees, a fig and a weeping Santa Rosa plum tree.
