Good news, the weather today is beautiful. We got three more inches of rain yesterday, I guess the drought years are over? Anyhow, I don't remember this much rain in years and years. Everywhere except the bog my garden drains like a sieve but with all this rain I don't know if it can take much more. Even though when I planted the roses the other day, the soil appeared damp still a foot or so down, but it was not soggy anywhere. Not the bog...that is where all the water drains to. From the top of the hills on all four sides the water drains down to there(the little branch is right beside it).
So the bog is just squeezy, and with the new rain it will continue to be that way a long time now. I had to lay some planks down in a couple of areas today it was so wet, water standing right on the surface.
I was collecting leaves back in November, and when I dumped out one of the bags there were some Hibiscus cuttings mixed in, so I stuck a few of them over in one of my small beds and I noticed today new green growth starting to show. Hopefully that not only means the cuttings have rooted but hopefully that also means that they are perennial and not just tropical hibiscus
cuttings.
I don't know what variety they might be but this is what they looked like the day I planted them.
This is the new growth showing.
I removed my seed tray from the top of the garage refrigerator today. The first of the seeds were germinating so I moved the tray under the lights.
