Seedfork's blog: Planted Amaryllis seed and Mexican sunflower seed 04-17-20

What a beautiful Sunday, blue skies and sunshine, just what I have been needing.
I cut some grass, and I do mean some grass, mostly I cut weeds. I cleaned out the front gutters, I picked up a load of grass clippings, I worked in the garden beds, planted some seeds, and worked on a plant trade digging the plants and getting them ready to mail tomorrow.
Back in the fall I planted some hosta seeds and I only had five little plants emerge, all green naturally. Still, fun to watch them grow. I decided it was such a pretty day I had to put some seeds in the ground so I dug out some of my refrigerated Amaryllis seeds and Mexican Sunflower seeds and just planted a very small row of each. I had planted some Amaryllis seed last year and have a few plants showing some nice growth here and there, but it will be a few more years before any of them bloom.
My cucumbers are almost big enough now to transplant they are starting to get their true leaves...now where to plant them...let me see? I'll wait another day and make that decision.
Had a nice Dutch Iris bloom, and a nice bearded Iris bloom, the daylilies are shooting up scapes everywhere and a few are actually blooming. In another couple of weeks, they should really be starting to put on a show, if the rust does not bring down the curtain. I will have so many more plants this year than last year during blooming season, and from what I have seen so far the number of scapes is going to be way more that last year per plant.
First year they sleep, , second year they creep, and the third year they leap and I have quite a few on their third year now.
Just a wonderful day in the garden today, hope everyone had such a marvelous day.
