Seedfork's blog: Repaired a row in the bog 06-24-2016

One of my rows for growing daylilies had washed quite a bit, it had become pretty weedy with hundreds of small weeds and nut grass trying to get a foothold in the garden. Plus the critters love to dig on any bank or incline and this was perfect to encourage them to dig. I had a rough fence wire "cage" over this row, but the holes were way too big and let the critters still did up the plants. The front edge of the row had pretty well eroded away.
So, I decided to rework the row, I hauled in a lot of compost and packed it down, placed individual cages over the plants and got rid of all the tiny weeds. I am pleased with how it looked and was surprised to see this morning the critters had not destroyed most of my work.
