Seriously. I need help. Some 12 step program or something. A meeting of like-minded beleaguered souls who can't pass up a "REDUCED, CLEARANCE" table of plants without coming home with at least a couple...a few...OK, five. I bought five. OK? It's not that much. And I can stop whenever I want to. Just back off ok?
I got three pots of canna Tropicana for ...get this...$1 a pot...and the bulbs are so packed into the pots that the sidewalls are breaking. Who could resist? I have no problem overwintering tender bulbs...so these were definitely a bargain. Especially since next summer Im planning to put in a bed of cannas along the front of the deck steps. I've got a big clump of yellow flowered ones, another big clump of rosy red, and now these. I've also got the really tall bright red Indian Shot cannas, but those go elsewhere...
I also bought two very nice white Weigleas for $2 each. I think those might go into the Pine Gap...I'll have to think it over. I have this idea for a white garden, but not sure exactly WHERE that might go.... Hmm....White Garden.... *taps chin*.

These latest were bought late yesterday evening on the spur of the moment. We picked a nice pot full of concord grapes and I had the steamer/juicer all set up and ready to go and then realized....I'd tossed out the rubber tubing 2 years ago because it was old and looked unsanitary. And naturally forgot to replace it. So I had to run all the way out to Lowe's in Saturday evening traffice to get another small piece of tubing. And while I was there, I just happened to *whistles* wander over into the nursery section and see the Clearance Table.... Oh, leave me alone. I was born this way... It's my mother's fault... No wait...it's an illness. I blame society....

Weeded and watered a bit in the Storybook Garden this morning. Everything is desperately dry and our long range forecast has no rain at all... I'm glad I got the Anaconda hose system out and ready to go months ago...it's going to get a work out.
Making grape jelly this morning. I've got 8 cups of juice so I'm debating whether to turn it all into jelly or just some and then a little wine... Probably should just go with jelly and have give-away jars.
I picked 6 very big very nice ripe red sweet peppers yesterday; having those, stuffed, for supper tonight. I've got a lot of ripe hot peppers that need picking...I'm making those into hot sauce. I go thru gallons of hot sauce every year, might as well make my own.

Still have not got my bulb order put together. I'm promising myself an enjoyable hour over the catalogs this evening, with a glass of wine from last year's grapes.
