chelle's blog: Sequim Rare Plants order is here!

Posted on Apr 26, 2012 5:50 AM

My first order with this company came in yesterday, and I'm impressed!

Before opening the package I wondered why I was sent a box 12" wide, by 24" long, and 6" deep for a mere 4 plants...now, I know. It's because the plants were actually that BIG! Wow!

The smallest plant is big.

The medium plant is bigger...

Iris ensata 'Light at Dawn'.

...and the two giant plants of Iris ensata 'Caprician Butterfly' (one shown here) are fully 22" long, with huge2012-04-26/chelle/a6fc17 root systems! I added a 4" pot to the image for reference, but it shows bigger than it should. These roots would only fit in a 12" pot!

The plants came to Indiana from Washington state, yet looked like they were freshly pulled and handed to me. Sweet!

I'll definitely check Seqium's listings first from now on.
