The year started out with cool temps and late frosts... blooms were going good and plants looking awesome.
With a few oddities here and there.
The winds were so strong and beating the blooms to the point we decided to plant more trees for the future years.
In spite of the problems that the iris's were hit with there was still some beautiful little blooms.
The blooms are the only thing that keep me fighting this fight...and I thank God for giving me good friends with sound advice, otherwise I no doubt would have given up. All the beds look like this unfortunately, so we are starting to re-work them and clean up what is left.
The tator's are up and Everyone is enjoying being able to be outside.
The corn is way higher than knee high, before the 4th of July ;-) and it is tasseling!
Hubs starts building the fence for the Chinese long beans.
Veggie gardens doing good!
Can't keep the girls out of the peas.. lol
Lilies are in bloom now...
Abbey insists that they be "pollin'd" as she puts it... and tells me that is her job -- not bad I don't think for a 6 yr old.
Had a few problems with the lilies too...my first experience ever with any virus's running through them. Breaks my heart, but lesson learned.
Hope the rest of the season goes smooth for not just my little farm but everyone else as well!
