Getting Aunt Bett and Ninna organized into a readable format is about as easy as coaxing spring to get here earlier than late March. Even though I have all the info at my fingertips, putting it into some kind of book order is a little like getting an iris to bloom before its time, especially on chilly, gray, gloomy days. Spring, it does not come early to West Kentucky this year.
I write for awhile, then I take a little break; write, take a break, write, take a break - and so it goes most every day. I'd been hoping my breaks would coincide with blooms in my garden because I do much better with color in my world. That isn't happening yet. Only the crocuses seem willing to accommodate me.
I am not one who gives up easily. There isn't much spring in the air, but fortunately I can add a bit of color to my own world.
So now I write for awhile and paint for awhile, write then paint, write then paint. It isn't a bad schedule for my days and as soon as my gardens wake up then I'll put away my brushes and paints and spend my breaks right in the middle of all that wonderful color again.
Until then, I reckon writing and painting are the next best things.
