Just a quick post today.
Tip 1. Mix up hydrogen peroxide (1/4 cup) and warm water (3/4 cup) and use it to water in your newly planted seeds. You can also soak slow to germinate seeds in this solution for an hour before planting. I used it to re-moisten the compost where my pepper seeds were planted for about a week and they germinated the next day! The peroxide is totally natural and organic, despite the chemical sounding name. It adds extra oxygen to the soil, kills off fungus and disease in the soil, and boosts root growth.
Tip 2. Not so much for planting seeds, but for the technique. Always open your seed packets FROM THE BOTTOM. That way you preserve the information on the packet and they are much easier to reseal with a strip of tape.
Gorgeous weather here today! Feels like April. I'm out in the veg fixing fences and digging over beds!
