For several years I've been struggling to mow our 4 & 1/2 acres with a push mower. It's been impossible to cut everything so I would just get close to the house & where I tie out the dogs. Thank God we live in the country because it looks like someone's old pasture. I'm ashamed to admit but I would look over at my neighbor & just be filled with jealousy, despair, & a little anger. She has a tractor, a John Deere mower, a zero turn mower, & a push mower. I once said something to her about trying to mow in one day & she said she'd probably mow it but she wasn't sure what she would run over. I said I always walk the area & pick up sticks or anything questionable. I just got the impression she was trying to sound helpful & nice but it wasn't something she wanted to be asked, so I never did.
For years I've had the same job, even when they cut my hours to part time then to 14 hours a week. I didn't want to get out of my comfort zone & didn't think I could do anything else so I never really looked. Thank goodness for my husband's disability. It was enough to live on but nothing extra like a new mower. Over the years we've bought used riding mowers but when they broke down, no way to fix them & no way to carry them to be fixed.
And then an opportunity at a completely different industry came up. Full time, more hours, but more money. I started looking for a mower. Tractor Supply had their zero interest for 48 months sale & I thought, it's now or never. My son found a friend that would deliver it so I put it on my Tractor Supply card after work & he delivered it the next day. I mowed most the yard within 48 hours but still have areas I have to get with a push mower or weedeater. I hurt so bad!!!
