She did it again. Ray and her DH were picking up patio furniture that she saw advertised on FB for a friend of hers and lo and behold, guess what she saw in the lady's yard. A big Rain Barrel. The lady asked if they knew anyone who wanted one and she said yes, and they brought it to me yesterday afternoon. Isn't that the Bombe! I just love it, and it has an area on top to put a plant or plants. Can you say Portulaca?
We now have 3 Rain Barrels, and I won't need to worry about the drought next spring. Thank you, Ray. She also is giving me another Spineless Yucca. It is not getting enough sun in her yard, and we have plenty of it down here. Isn't it great to have a friend you can recycle plants with. Works for me. Thanks to all my friends I now have enough plants to share seeds & seedlings with for years to come.
I have an Angel Trumpet that is getting ready to bloom and I can't wait to see what color it is. I think it came with my Japanese Glory Bower plant that Peggy gave me because it's right beside the JGB.
I walked out this morning to see 5 Portulaca blooms in between the concrete pavers. Lovely!
Early this morning I finished putting my Ruella on the Bank and I had to remove a bunch of grass in order to get it planted. I took it to my neighbor's bank because she has the sand erosion. I watered it in and I also watered the Ruella that I put along her fence last week. It is blooming and looking good.
The Crepe Myrtle Indica species is starting to look better. I hope all three bushes make it because I really need more shade in this yard. Can't wait to see what color it is. I have been watering things daily. Heat, humidity. Florida summer!
