lovemyhouse's blog: Play me some Brickyard Blues

At 11:15 last night, Blondy says old/new/(??) boyfriend was kicked out of mom’s place and he is coming to get her and baby to go to a mutual friend’s place.  Huh?  Well, who cares?  I mean, really, if he had a job and did anything constructive or useful, I bet mom might have acted differently.  But, as long baby-boy is in no danger and as long as you are back in time to watch your sister’s kid tonight like you committed to do, don’t let the door hitchew.

Almost forgot to make sister’s lunch for today.  So, before bed, tossed a pork roast in the slow cooker for overnight.  Set alarm to get up at 6:30 in the AM today to assemble roast and mashed taters with shredded cheese.  The genius person who invented boxed instant mashed potatoes should get a Nobel Prize, or, a big round of applause, at least. :-]

It is Doggie Nirvana this morning.  They could sure smell the roast and were dancing around my feet in the kitchen.  I feel badly that they are still on that nasty dry Alpo, so I spooned out a little of the ‘au jus’  over each one's bowl.  Happy doggie dance, happyhappy!! LOL

Scooped most of water out of tub.  A lot easier today since I don’t have to be concerned about what I am scooping.  (SnickerSnortChortle) Going to sneak in a shower while girls are gone.

Overcast enough this morning even at 8:30 for the porch light sensor to turn it on.  Possibility of more rain.  More rain, yeppers!  MoreRainMoreRainMoreRain.  Of course, more snails to crunch underfoot, too, (bleck!) but nothing good comes without cost.  When we have money again, going to get a bag of diatomaceous earth.  Maybe two.  Or three.  Eat up MY newly sprouted plants, will you?  Take THAT! HA!

Oooof.  Have gained back every bit of the weight I lost last year and still massively overeating…sigh…

Aphids are bad again this Spring and I was reluctantly contemplating chemicals until I saw all the ladybugs everywhere.  Will put up with the bad bugs to get the good, fun ones. :-D

Got NOID yellow Iris clump by the sidewalk dug, trimmed, washed, bleach-solutioned, washed again, and now drying.  Ship on Monday.  Planted the Rose of Sharon the neighbors gave me in the empty spot.  Eager to see how it does there.

Humid today.  Forgotten what it is like working outside with it.

WooHoo, fire hydrant sold!  Was planting the ROS when a man in a suburban stopped and asked if I had the hydrant.  If I understood correctly, he is building an animal shelter on the square Downtown and thought it would be cute to have a fire hydrant on either side of the entrance.  Love the idea.  Could only find one until he saw my ad.  The thing weighs at least 150 pounds, so he called around and finally reached someone to help load it.  Told me the guy’s name, left, and came back in 10 minutes—with the Mayor Pro Tem / Councilman for my district.  Although he wasn’t introduced as such, I recognized him right away.  Kind of fun to have the local politico doing manual labor in my driveway. ROFL

Think I need to move the Duchess of Albany Clematis.  Looks unhappy where it is, probably doesn’t get enough sunshine.  Have to ponder where I can put it.

Full day even though it is only 6:00PM.  Blondy home sometime this evening to watch girl-baby while younger-mama goes to movie with a friend.  Going to read for awhile and bed early.
