lovemyhouse's blog: It's a beautiful morning, ahhh, I think I'll go outside for awhile, and just smile

When we get money, I am definitely getting a new bedroom door and having a dang doggie door cut into it!  The door now is original to the house, doesn’t fit straight in the frame (73-year-old pier and beam house on heavy clay soil is gonna shift and shift and shift some more), plus the latch won’t secure—the dogs can just push it open with a nose.  Which means I have to get up to go close it again—until the next dog decides she wants in the room—and it starts all over again.  :-p  Since I would rather not cut into the original door, it’s a good thing it won’t shut anyway, right? :-D

Both girls gone tonight, I will be watching Buddha Boy, and nothing good on the telly.  Wah.  Oh, wait.  Baseball.  Okay, Rangers and Astros at 7:00.  So weird having Astros in American League.

Forgot I have a 78” magnetic level.  Posted it on Craigslist and ebayclassifieds.  Fingers crossed sells fast, along with the printer and mug press.  Oops, have cordless drill with hard plastic case, too.  Keeping the charger and flashlight that was in the kit.  List it!

Found a little soil didn't know I had and planted a few of the seeds I've been drooling over.  Thank you, Margaret! :-):-):-):-):-):-)

Have both babies this afternoon.  Girl-baby’s mother wants to go to a concert of tribute bands with a friend.  Girl-baby's father is coming after her when he gets off work, but no telling when that will be this time of year.  He's Mexican and confirms the stereotype—he mows lawns.  ROFL

11:30PM.  Put boy-baby to bed an hour ago.  Put him down first at 8:00 and he didn’t want to sleep, so let him run around until he was too tired to walk straight.   Just changed girl-baby and made/gave her a bottle.  Dad never showed, texted, or called.  I had texted younger-mama at 8:30 to ask if she heard anything, said she would find out for sure and let me know.  And SHE hasn’t responded back…sigh…what happened to plain ol’ courtesy?

Back hurts; shoulders hurt; ball of my left foot hurts? Where did that come from? Geez, am I just old?

Thought this might happen with that second cup of coffee—sleep is far, far away. :-p  Which turns out to be a good thing because at 2:12AM, I hear some kind of muffled clunking sound and the dogs set up a ruckus.  Always means someone or something is close by outside.  Hear a car with a bad muffler driving away.  Hmmm.  Maybe younger-mama was dropped off early?  Has happened before.  Open front door.  Don’t see anything except flashing red and blue lights across the avenue.  Close door.  Dogs still going at it.  Then I can tell the sound is coming from the storm door.  Open again, still nothing.  Start to close, hear a ‘wait a minute’—and Blondy is walking from around the side of the house.  Unhappy expression, bloodshot eyes, doesn't want to look me in the eyes, verrrry skimpy attire.  No backpack, no purse..no key.  All of which she had when she left at 11:00 this morning…ah, crap.  I don’t want to hear about it, so I don’t even ask.  As long as she doesn’t pester my sister (who has a very bad cold) to run her all over creation later to collect her stuff, and as long as whoever dropped her off doesn’t come back, I don’t really care.

3:53AM dogs decide they want outside.  Blondy is still awake with the TV on.  Great.  I see how this is going to go at 8:30 when her son wakes up and wants a clean diaper, breakfast, and some attention.

6:58AM girl-baby starts fussing a little.  Okay, it’s her usual time to be up.  Make bottle.  Grab diaper and wipes, put her on my bed.  Good Lord!  How does one tiny little noise-maker who only ever consumes formula have so much dark green stuff inside her?   If I knew who invented baby wipes, I’d track down her or him and kiss her or his feet.  Boy-child starts fussing just before I finish the wipe.  Okay, fasten diaper, put girlie back in crib, go to other room, grab boy-baby's bottle (who promptly goes from Level 3 fussing to Level 6 screaming), refill, settle him back down.  Whewww.  Okee dokee, should have about an hour of peace.

Okee dokee smokee!—it is 8:19AM and little-mama (she isn’t even 5 feet tall) is on her way home!  Yippee!!!  AND she apologized for not updating me last night, said her phone died.  Willing to give this one benefit of doubt.  Going to take my iced coffee and wander the yard in my pajamas when she gets here.  Oh, frabjous day!
