ScarletTricycle's blog: No. 185: it's been a while

I did go missing.

We have lost two family members and the third, my mom was moved to hospice. We were told a week, which has come and gone and she's still with us. Not at 100% but for some crazy reason has improved - talked to her last night as we have been with her the full last week.

Whew. It's a lot to process, a lot to worry on and living in the world where you keep one foot in the death lane ready at moments notice.

So I'm back for a moment until life changes again.

Today will be dealing with my cuttings and getting them in dirt. That will be a huge project finished. Then it's cleaning up all the things I left to dry back and get boxed up like tuberous begonias and geraniums. I think I lost all my petunias but I could be wrong.

I will be glad to have that all done.

I still need to work on my family portrait of seedlings to see the different forms that came from the same seed parent. In the end I found some were from the same plant! As I was tying tags with each bloom some plants had different numbers on them I think I did that to 3 plants. I took notes as I divided and need to update my document so I have a list for next late winter to go through and decide what I'd like to plant.

Next on my list is to figure out how to make my new mucks nicer to my heel. Some fab designer thought leaving the ribbed side out on the trim that goes against the heel was brilliant. I'm being sarcastic. It is the worst design! I tried moleskin but because the shoe stretches there it pops off and rolls. So I need to do some thinking of how to modify. Otherwise the shoes are great! And yes I wear them barefoot so maybe I need to find a tall sock and that will help but I doubt it.
