I'm beginning to motor!

Above is my tin I found second hand that will be home to my garden and annual seeds. It's separate from my special dahlia seed tin. As you can see, the above tin leads to my motoring into a new growing season. Yay! It's been too damn cold and gives me a ton of time to think about moving into spring.

Right now I'm readying to head to my mom's and begin getting her ready to move into assisted living. I hope we are making the best decision for her. Scares me on that front as you hear so many stories but I have to trust right?

Once that's settled and she's comfortable. I'll be back home and I have a long list to begin on: geraniums, dahlia seeds and then work out my need to plant by list. I'm not going to venture into winter sowing this year. Though it works sometimes I just find it works easier for some things if I put them out in late March or early April. Well I'll put it this way: I don't plan to do any cold weather sowing as of this morning. Plans may change and if I'll do something different but for now that's would be my initial thoughts on it all.

I'm ready to get going really. I'd love to see blooms and see what I've got going on. I did place a small order for some tubers to perhaps allow a few more seed producers and colors in my garden. Hopefully they are fantastic bloomers. That's never something vendors truly indicate that I'd love to know. I have some that make 2 blooms all season and others that turn over repeatedly. I know like any plant it depends on where it's planted and how it does, watered, sun and wind. Oh and those JBs. I hate those things! But dang it would be great if they all were super floriferous!

So with this bitter cold this morn real feel right now -11° so that's doable: better than -30- -40° or worse. BTDT. Every winter we have some days like that and life moves on. But always in the moment we say damn it's cold. We bundle up, we run the cars a bit longer to warm and look like giant walking human ticks (shout out to a Christmas Story) as we are all bundled up when out to live our lives.

Soon enough, spring will be wrapped around us, only 63 more days until that happens! I do hope this spring into summer is less drought filled. I have found what to do with my water bill if I'm watering more than usual so that's a huge help! Why they don't tell you this I will never know. But I'm ready if that's the case too. I'll also probably still save rainwater again as that's a help and plants I think prefer that vs treated water. But what do I know.

The day is underway and I need to begin packing and see where the day will take me. Stay warm and safe. Have good dreams and plans for the upcoming growing season.
