Each day I get out and pull a few weeds, (tiny ones so they won't get big), and throw down some seeds of Tithonia or see if any new seeds have sprouted.
It is so cold in the mornings that I have changed my attitude about walking. Roxxie does not want to go early either, so I wait until it warms up and then we go for a long walk. Much better.
I am extremely happy to report that all of my Bleeding Heart Vines are growing and looking good. Winter is the best time here in Florida to transplant or start new plants, and you have a really good percentage rate of survival. I love perennials and annuals alike, but the annuals are not going to give you bones for winter. Yes, they look marvelous in spring, summer, & fall and I love them, especially my Zinnias.
I will try to take some photos today of some of my new plants that were given to me. It will have to warm up for them to get more growth, but you can tell what they are and that is what counts.
FYI: I have Sage, Chives, Rosemary, and Salvia all planted in the trough next to the house on the north side where the sun does not reach until later in spring and they are doing okay. When the sun does hit them, they are going to grow like crazy. We have been eating the chives with our baked potatoes.
Hey, have you ever had or made Peanut Butter Bread. Man is that great! Ray made some last week and brought us some and it was so good. If you'd like the receipt, I'll get it for you and post it. I like using the word receipt because it's old fashioned and sounds like grandma talking.
I'm currently working on a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Fun!
