ScarletTricycle's blog: No. 208: moving forward

Posted on Feb 22, 2024 6:47 AM

I'm moving forward!

A few pounds down. Yay! Trying not to weigh too often at this point then I get too focused on the scale and then get frustrated.

As for the dahlias: seedlings look good. Still small but some are getting large enough to be pinched back. The plants will get pouty and rebel and look like they aren't growing but then once outside they'll take off!

I ordered a few new to me tubers and I think I'm done. I will still look locally but only for a specific few if I see them. Otherwise I am done buying online. I will look once menards and Home Depot put out their clumps. For me, that's the first of spring - so late March.

I have been keeping an eye on those warmer zone gardeners who post on YouTube what they find in the bigbox stores. I have seen a few that pique my interest. I have a few I lost because I parted w my extras early and the ones I kept didn't sprout well or at all. So I have a small list of replacements as I enjoyed their heavy blooming.

I sound like I have a serious problem in wanting to keep adding to my garden! Hah.

Happy day to you all. Sorry my posts are kind of light, there are only so many shots to share of growing leaves at this point. Enjoy the warmer weather we've been gifted and think how you can harness in the moisture once we truly get to growing as I'm afraid we might be in drought again with this winter being so warm. 60° they say next week!
