This huge hosta resides in the shade of the mountain maples and the old red oak (160+ yrs).
We've been meaning to divide this hosta for some time now but .... something about running out of time : )
And the same with the hosta that lives under our kitchen window.
These two are the largest, but there are many more that will soon be of a similar size ... hmmmm.
Amazing ... all the garlic bulbils are peeping up through the soil after only five days.
This will our first attempt at growing garlic from bulbils. In previous years we've used cloves.
Boundary Garlic found that the progeny from bulbils often outperformed the parent bulbs.
And the Persian coneflower has it's first flower. Didn't like this plant when it first came to live with us.
It was a straggly, floppy plant ... but give it a bit of time and look what happened.
It stands tall now and gives us colour between the last of the iris and the first phlox flowers.
