Original Message sod or seed
Quoting Kimm: ------------
-The grasses available as sod are quite limited. While I'm not real sure what is available in Louisianna, up here sod is mostly bluegrass types. There is a wider variety available as seed that may meet your needs better than sod. Most grasses will have a hard time competing with the trees in the shade and traffic will wear the grass out quickly although getting the soil in shape, adding enough organic matter to give these perennials a chance, can help.
