Vines overtaking basils

Vines overtaking basils
Posted by Al from fl/10 on 2008-08-19 11:51:00

Hi to all. Living in S. Florida, my outdoor basil plants are being taken over by these vine looking shoots that seem to grow very fast. It's light yellow/green in color. Though it started from one end of the bed, I can not find any roots to pull out. It tends to wrap around the stems, bunch them together and inhibit their growth . Help please!

Take a piece to your county agriculture agent. They should be able to tell you what you have.
I have what sounds like the same stuff constanly going up my plants and citrus trees. We have so many differrent kinds of vines in Florida that you can't hardly keep up with it. Worst are those 'sweet potato vines.
