Unknown plant

A friend gave me a plant that i dont know what it is or if its safe to have around pets. It has large green leaves with white spots all over the top side. The under side has a red tint to it. I have no idea how to care for this plant can some one help me.

    Kerri: My first guess would be a caladium...check the link above I think it will appear below my name, above) for some pictures. If you don't think it's a caladium.....go back to the top of that same page, and click on Elephant Ears...that will give you some other pictures to compare to. Good luck!!
