Please Help!! I have a Santa-Rita or Purple Prickly Pear cactus that is around twenty years old. It has gotten rather large and is need of a pruning. Could you please tell me how to do this without damaging the plant and the best time of year to do it? Thanks for your help!! Jennifer

    I don't know if you've found your answer by now, but there is a WONDERFUL web site called The Garden Web. They have forums on just about any topic you can think of. Here is a link to the main page of forums. Try looking at 'Cacti and Succulents'. You might find an answer from them.
