Squirrels & new plantings

Squirrels & new plantings
Posted by J.A. W. from NY/7 on 2001-04-09 12:23:28

There's a big old oak tree in my back yard. It is home to a family of 6 squirrels at my last count. Last week I planted some daffodils around the trees in the front yard. Fri. I woke up to see no buds on the tops of the plants. On closer inspection I could see where the flower heads had been chopped off & a short distance away was the remains of the same flower heads. In other years they've pulled out newly planted impatience etc. Now I like Fuzzy Tails & even give them peanuts to discourage them from picking on my bird feeders but this is the limit!!! I've more things that need to be planted as soon as possible & would like for them to have a chance to grow & bloom.
