What can I put down to keep rabbits from eating my green beans this summer?

I tried used cat litter last summer.Worked just ok, but not completely.

The best way to keep rabbits from munching on plants in the garden is a good, tight fence. Everything else works for a very short period of time, but a good fence works all the time.
