uncover strawberries

Due to extreme limited space my "3 year" plants are in a "kids" plastic swimming pool. I have babied them for 3 years, is it time to take off the winter mulch?? They are alive and doing well, I peeked. ??

Just uncover enough of the crown so its not covered, they are susceptible to rot is kept too moist, otherwise I'd leave the mulch in place to help conserve moisture in the root zone. You do have the wading pool "fixed" for good drainage I hope.
