I cannot seem to get basil past the very leggy stage when starting it from seed. It just bends over and dies. Any advice?

Provide more light and try watering from the bottom not overhead. Also do not cover the seed just press them into the soil and use a sandy mixture.

      - If you started from seed and the seedlings sprouted close to each other, try thinning them out or transplanting them to a more open space. My seedlings always stay leggy until I transplant them. My basil always does will when they stand alone.
