Adaptations to Fill Basic Needs |

In Week 1 we discussed the importance of light, water,
air, and nutrients to plants. If the supply of one or more of these basic needs is
inadequate, plants will suffer and eventually perish. Yet certain plants manage to survive
in some pretty harsh environments. Let’s look at each of these basic needs and
explore some of the ways plants in challenging environments have evolved to meet their
needs. |
