Get Your Potted Plants off the Ground!Get Your Potted Plants off the Ground!
By Gymgirl, June 28, 2016

Build a simple "Planter Pallet" out of free, recycled, or reclaimed materials, to keep tree roots from invading your potted plants. The pallet also helps your containers drain better, because they aren't sitting flush on the surface! These are great for patio containers, and may be cut into various shapes to suit your fancy!

It really is a beautiful accent shrub, but I will be making every attempt to eradicate Tiger Eyes from my yard this summer. I have found more than 20 little baby Tiger Eyes up to 30 feet away from the parent, and this is only the third summer that I have had this plant. Though it has been marketed as non-aggressive/non-invasive, I regret having planted it.

I believe the picture for this plant is incorrect. in the International hibiscus Society genealogical database - the red version is classified as the main version ( no bloody mary label), the salmon color is a sport - and every other variation is not currently registered.

By mystlw on Jun 29, 2016 12:19 AM, concerning plant: Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Hush Little Baby')

I ordered this plant as 2-double fans, but what actually shipped to me were a few small plants with only a couple of leaves each. I planted it into a container thinking that I would have to wait until next season to see blooms. Within three days, scapes began to form. My four tiny plants now have three scapes blooming or about to bloom, while still only having a few small leaves. Beautiful small-ish flowers, though perhaps they will be larger next year when my plants are bigger.

My very favorite Crepe Myrtle is beginning to bloom once again. This one will stop you in your tracks. I just love everything about it and everyone that sees it loves it as much as I do.

By JamesT on Jun 27, 2016 12:46 PM, concerning plant: Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Boney Maroney')

This is one of my very favorite daylilies! The color is so clean and bright, it stands out from down the street. It's vigorous and clumps quickly. When crowded it can become top branched, but after dividing, I get scapes with two and sometimes three side branches.
