they grew taller than supposed to...when to prune? they grow too tall where they are..when can i transplant into different location?

Your hardy hibiscus will die back this winter and you can prune them way back in the spring. Early spring is also a good time to dig and transplant hibiscus. In some colder regions the plants can die all the way down to ground level each winter but they resprout each spring. If yours is too large you can simply prune it back to within 6" of groundlevel and let it regrow this spring rather than digging and moving the plant. The choice is yours.
