It's actually pretty easy to repot a plant. All you need is a new container (the size you've chosen is perfect for repotting) and some moistened potting soil. You can purchase potting soil in small bags in the houseplant section of your local garden center. Moisten a couple of handfuls of potting soil in a large bowl and the place the potting soil in the bottom of the new container. Unpot your money tree by running a knife around the inside of the pot to separate the rootmass from the edges of the container and then holding or laying the tree and the pot on its side, gently grasp the base of the money tree and slide it out of the pot, along with the potting soil that's clinging to the roots. Set the money tree into the new pot. If it seems to be sitting too low, take it out and place a few inches of moistened potting soil in the bottom of the container and set the money tree back into the pot. Hold it upright and fill in around the sides of the roots with more potting soil. Tamp it down slightly. When you're finished filling in all around the plant, water it well to help settle the soil. After the excess water has drained out of the pot you can place your money tree in its usual position in your house. Enjoy!
