Sample Seed prices are great, selection is very good, and the orders ship quickly. Remy, the owner, hosts a Tomato Festival every year in late August or early September on Grand Island, NY. It is a wonderful day of tomato tasting, eating, and gardening chat. Remy is a welcoming, kind hostess. If you ever get a chance, stop by and try out a few dozen tomatoes!

Good selection of both flowers and vegetables at very reasonable prices and fast delivery.
An example of their customer service: I mentioned on an online forum that I had bad luck with a certain tomato, without mentioning the seed source. The Sample owner read the forum, recognized my name as a recent customer, and on her own sent me another package of that variety!
My only complaint is that that the index to their lists (at the top of their website) is not arranged well. They do not print planting/growing info on their packages, but this is not a handicap to an experienced gardener.

On 12/31/12, I purchased 9 packs of tomato seed, 6 packs of pepper seed, 1 basil, 2 carrots, and a cauliflower pack that I planted the following autumn. I received them on January 7 along with a bonus pack of seeds. All of the seed counts were accurate or better (in some cases, the number of seeds was more than double the stated minimum amount!) and the germination rate was nearly 100% across the board. When one particular type of tomato did not germinate, I contacted Remy to ask whether this one perhaps needed something a little different. She immediately responded and offered to send a replacement pack of seed the same day. I declined her offer as I still had plenty of seed left over (due to the generous seed counts) and, on the second try, 2 of the 3 seeds sprouted. The Sample Seed Shop has good prices, fast shipping, and wonderful customer service, which is greatly appreciated! Remy also carries an extensive variety of tomatoes as well as other vegetables. I definitely would order from her again.

I've ordered from Sample Seed Shop for several years and have had great customer service and excellent seed germination. Offers a great variety of tomato seeds that aren't easily found. I appreciate that the seed packets are small and inexpensive for a gardener that only wants to grow a few plants. Nice variety of herb, flower, and other veggie seeds as well.

Update 2017; I've been ordering every year, and the seeds always have great germination, and I am always so amazed by the varieties that Remy has (especially tomatoes). Her seed packets are always generous, and she has helped me a few times with some great advice. Highly recommend.
