Strawberry Tower

I decided to create a strawberry tower by stacking the terra cotta planters.
There were 3 main problems to overcome:-
1) How to secure the tower to make it earthquake and drunken partygoer proof?
2) How to water the plants?
3) How to ensure sufficient drainage?

I secured the tower by inserting an 8-ft plastic-coated planting stake through the drainage holes in the bottom of the planters and securing the top of the stake to my garage roof timber.

Ensuring I could deliver water to all levels was as simple as utilizing the vacant planting pockets by inserting plastic water bottles from which I had cut off the bottom.

Sufficient drainage was achieved by filling the bottom-most planter with gravel, if I had attempted to grow Strawberries in this planter, I think they would literally have drowned.
The pictures will tell a better story than I. The smaller pots around the tower are there so I can increase my strawberry plant stock by rooting the runners.

My reason for this post is basically to encourage everyone to use their imagination. This is not rocket science. Look at what you have available and use your creativity. You'll be surprised at what you can achieve.
Remember, as long as you water and feed your plants, they will not complain.
