To keep birdseed from sprouting in your garden areas, toss mixed seed on a section of your driveway.

Birdseed tossed on the ground attracts a very wide variety of backyard songbirds, but it often makes a mess in the garden because any uneaten seed usually sprouts. To prevent that and to make the seed easy for the birds to spot, I just toss mixed seed on a section of driveway each day. I have birds come visit all day long until the seed is all eaten.
