Tools tools tools- what's in your tool box?

Somehow I overlooked the chore of cleaning and sharpening tools over the winter. Now that spring is here, I'm finding myself spending time tracking down tools, giving the handles a good oil, and tracking down Dave to put an edge back on a hoe or two. With 6 people who use our tools, they get a good workout!

As I was going through the process, I looked around our tool shed and wondered abut the other gardeners here on ATP. Let's break it into teams:

Team Tool Hoarder: This is for those who have a lot of tools. After all, there's a tool for every job imaginable (and some created, I'm convinced). If your tool shed looks like mine, you have several types of hoes, a different shovel for every job, every kind of weeder on the market, and several trowels from which to choose.

Then, we have Team Tool Few. I've heard of such people- those who have just one shovel, one trowel, and maybe a weeder. These tools, though few, do all of the work one needs, so why waste on more?

I admit, while "my" (and this is a married "my") tool shed is stocked full of tools, and I'm more than confident that we'll "need" another or two not yet in the collection, I have my favorites. In my heart, I'm Team Tool Few, as I have one or two tools for the flowers, and my favorite hoe for the veggies. I leave the rest for others in the family.

Over to you- tell me about your tools.
