I’m the first to admit I’m a lazy gardener to some degree. One of the worst chores for me, especially as I have positional vertigo, was weeding large beds. Again, enter the most versatile of garden tools, the Bread Knife!

It took me less than 3 minutes to weed this section of my bed.

Take the bread knife and run it under the weeds flat in a sawing motion about a half-inch to an inch deep under the weeds.

Then rake the area, grab the weeds, shake off the dirt that was dragged along with the weeds, and drop the weeds into a bucket.

Voila! Nice weed-free bed. The best part is that the weeds don’t come back from the roots.
