Hemostat pliers make a good tool for getting around/between Sempervivum and Sedum plants when you're weeding. You don't have to lock them. Just close and pull.

I needed something smaller than my fingers for getting in between, under, and around my semps and sedums. I don't mistakenly pull out a hunk of sedum when I use these. Enlarge pic for closer look.
