How to make a beautiful pedigree chart to keep track of the parentage of your seedlings and crosses

Hello, everyone. I wanted to share an idea with those of you who like to be visual and make a photographic pedigree of your seedlings.

I'm testing XMind in its free version. It's a type of powerful software to make every kind of map or chart.
You can download it here http://www.xmind.net/

When the program starts, you can choose the type of map you want. I used Logic Chart.

Then choose the template you like, and you'll start like this:

Then, in the upper menu, you can see the Insert Menu. Choose Image (from file or Web) and put the image of your seedling in the box.

Double-click on the text and write what you need to write. You can resize the picture and move the box.

Now right-click on the box and a pop-up menu will appear, choose Insert, and then SubTopic. A new smaller box will be created, linked to the main box.

Repeat the steps above (add image and change text) for every box you need.

This free version lets you export maps in image format only. Go to the file menu and choose export when you're done. Then save your jpg in a folder of your choice.

I hope this can be of some help.
